The field of spintronics continues to be a vibrated field due to constantly new emerging phenomena. After briefly reviewing several key issues in spintronics, I will discuss two related topics. The first is on spin pumping, which describes spin-polarized current generated by a rotating magnetic particle or layer. A particular issue is the possibility to observe quantized spin pumping current. The second topic is to extend the conventional spin diffusion equation to a regime where ballistic transport dominates. An interesting prediction is the large spin accumulation enhancement when the mean free path is larger than the spin diffusion (dephasing) length.
