Non-stoichiometric silicon carbide materials with strong optical nonlinear Kerr effect has been reported in recent years. Versatile photonic waveguide devices based on this observation were successively demonstrated. Among these intriguing studies, the SiC based micro-ring waveguides designed and fabricated for implementing the all optical data processing on chip are promising applications of great interest. In this talk, different functionalities of the all-optical processing in the SiC micro-ring waveguide devices will be discussed, and the performances of the pulsed RZ-OOK data transmission, format conversion and switching logics are overviewed briefly.
